2. Prepare the beef. Choose a cut that suits the time you have available (see below chart for cut and timing options). Brown the beef in small batches for great colour and flavour.
3. Add the vegetables. Use a combination of your favourite vegetables. Flavoursome and sturdy vegetables like onions, celery, garlic, capsicum and carrot work well in slow simmered beef meals.
4. Add the flavour base. Try using your favourite herbs and spices. Bay leaf, rosemary and thyme are great choices. Crush and leave the herbs on the stalk for a succulent flavour (remove the stalks just before serving). Try using packaged liquid beef stock, or try powdered stock and water (add 1 cup of water for each teaspoon of stock).
